A well-designed landscape around the house is as important as a beautiful interior. If you are lucky enough to have outdoor living space, it would be a shame not to arrange and use it. We present two recent examples of modern landscape architecture in the garden designed by Urban Exotic in Australia.
Example of contemporary landscape architecture in the garden

The owners of this terrace in Paddington, Sydney wanted to create a modern courtyard in the 42-square-meter space behind the terrace house. It needed to include an entertaining area while providing the privacy required in the city. The terrace is pleasing from every angle, even from the bedroom on the second floor. The owner also wanted to integrate a water feature seen during a trip to Bali: a wall of water cascading into a small pond. The landscape architects translated that idea into a beautiful courtyard feature.
Planning landscape architecture in the garden

It was a real challenge to divide the compact area into distinct dining and cooking zones. The finished garden creates the illusion of more space, not less. The bold choice of black exterior walls works especially well, giving the many shades of green in the planting a dramatic backdrop.

Coastal Oasis is another Urban Exotic landscape project in Port Stephens, New South Wales, Australia. In this project, stone slabs, wooden furniture, exotic planting, and carefully designed lighting create a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for summer evenings and weekend brunch.
