What is a side entrance door, and how is it different from a balcony door or the main front door? Which materials and designs are available, and what should you consider before buying? We take the modern side door under the microscope and give you an overview of the options on the market. Design in the photo above and below: Torterolo.
Modern side entrance door – features

The modern side entrance door connects the house with the garden, garage, or a secondary outdoor area. In terms of security and stability, it is built more like an exterior door than a simple interior door. Side entrance doors are available in wood, metal, glass, and plastic. Common constructions include hinged doors, framed doors, and block-frame systems. You can also choose a sliding or swing door. Wider leaves are available for frequent use. Unlike a glass balcony door, which often looks more like a window, the side entrance door is reinforced.
The modern side entrance door in place

The side door is modern, functional, and elegant at the same time. Many manufacturers favor minimalist designs whose timeless look strengthens the architecture of the house. Glass details loosen solid steel or wood elements and bring daylight indoors. Simple geometric shapes define the designs. Natural wood tones make the entrance feel warm and inviting. Recently, the typical red accent has also been used with success, especially when a modern home is fitted with a red steel door.
