D1 House is a vacation home on the cliff, designed by architect Vincent Coste in Saint-Tropez. Built on a steep hillside in the south of France, the house has breathtaking sea views and is composed of stacked volumes embedded in the rocky slope above the water.
A house built on a rocky slope
This two-story house has a large terrace for enjoying the sun and sea views, along with a rectangular infinity pool for relaxing on hot days. A broad structure of wooden slats provides sun protection and defines several outdoor areas around the house. On the ground floor, the lounge, kitchen, and dining room blend harmoniously. The boundary between inside and outside disappears when the floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors are open, while generous windows frame panoramic sea views from every room. One bedroom is on the ground floor, and the other four are upstairs.
