When designers experiment with forms and unconventional materials, unique products can emerge. When those materials are recycled, we can speak of innovative eco-design. South African designer Ryan Frank carries this environmental philosophy confidently into the future, and it is reflected in his design objects. His ornate chairs, stools and home furnishings are designed without compromising comfort and are made from fabric scraps and recycled materials. Sustainable designer furniture by Ryan Frank is internationally renowned today.
Classic sustainable furniture – Inkuku

The impressive Inkuku chair is regarded as an object of green design. It is made from recycled plastic bags, and its distinctive ornaments are handmade. The concept was developed through the Inja and Inkuku chair designs.

Inja – chair design from recycled fabric scraps

Using traditional craft techniques, the Inja chair was designed by hand from fabric pieces. The design intention was to find a new and practical use for textile waste from the fashion industry. Inja measures 900 x 700 x 700 mm.
