Israeli designer Rami Tareef created a fascinating chair collection called COD. Its distinctive feature is the handwoven structure of the designer wicker chairs. In his designs, Tareef combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary design.

With an innovative weaving technique, he creates a three-dimensional array of geometric shapes. For these remarkable pieces, Rami Tareef uses about 500 meters of polypropylene cord and ten meters of steel pipe. This is especially impressive because all the chairs are handmade. A craftsman in Jerusalem taught him the traditional weaving technique used for this special chair.

These approaches are visible in both the planning and execution processes. Parts of the chair were sketched, created in a CAD program, and then prepared as structural supports for the woven ropes.
