No, there is nothing wrong with your eyesight. This is Afterimage, a series of wire-mesh furniture by Bomi Park. The visually blurred project was designed by the young South Korean designer. The Afterimage furniture series was introduced at DMY Berlin 2012.

As the title suggests, the furniture is inspired by optical illusions and shimmers like a mirage. The collection originally consisted of two classically shaped desks with lamps and a floor lamp. Today it also includes chandeliers, pendant lamps, candle holders and bedside tables, all with the same remarkable pixel-like effect.
Deceptive Wire-Mesh Designer Furniture
The furniture is made from stacked black steel mesh, so each piece looks like a dynamic trail or a deceptive mirage. The objects appear quite different when viewed from different angles. This optical illusion resembles the way memory can turn a clear image into something fluid and blurred.
Shimmering like a deceptive mirage
The result is fascinating and deliberately misleading, almost as if you were looking through frosted glass. The actual shape of each object becomes blurred, creating the vague illusion of a distant memory. The industrial designer tried to reproduce this effect, and the result is truly exceptional.
