Brazilian designer Erico Gondim designed the Ivy lounge rocker according to the principles of biomimicry. In biology, mimicry refers to an organism’s evolutionary adaptation in which it resembles another plant or animal species. Sometimes the imitation is so precise that the mimic and the model are hard to distinguish. For example, harmless insects may imitate the strong black-and-yellow pattern of a wasp. This form of camouflage helps the animal survive and keep enemies away.
Rocking lounge chair design inspired by nature

The base of the rocking lounge chair transforms the two-dimensional objects created in a drawing into a three-dimensional form with a striking sculptural character. The finish of Ivy is a highlight. Its frame is made from unpeeled American oak, while the seat and backrest are handwoven from palm leaves. To ensure a comfortable seat, the palm leaves are covered with water-resistant felt. The ergonomic seat follows the contours of the human body and wraps the sitter in soft, reassuring comfort.
Stable rocking lounge chair with an oak frame

The Ivy lounge chair by Erico Gondim offers complete relaxation and excellent lying and sitting comfort. Its attractive appearance comes from the combination of industrial design and traditional craftsmanship. The material gives the room a certain lightness, while the woven structure conveys the unique feeling of reclining.
A design highlight with organic aesthetics

It creates the feeling of being in a hammock. Ivy aims to evoke positive emotions. Curved lines and ergonomic form accurately reflect the spirit of the time. The Ivy rocking chair also has storage space beneath the seat.
