MVS is a lightweight reclining lounger with a timeless character and the presence of a sculptural object. Designed by Maarten Van Severen for Vitra in 2000, the chair combines modern functionality with a refined look. The head cushion can be adjusted in two positions, while the stainless-steel cantilever frame lets the sitter move from an upright position to a reclining one by shifting body weight.
A Lounger Suitable for Indoors and Outdoors

Made of durable plastic, the MVS reclining lounger adapts to the shape of the body and can also be used outdoors. The backrest and footrest have a cushioning effect, while the cushion is made of polyurethane foam with a leather cover. The lounger is available in black or signal red and is characterized by softness, elasticity and a clean silhouette.
Two Reclining Positions

To produce reliable, sustainable and environmentally conscious products for offices, homes and public spaces, the Vitra brand collaborates with progressive designers such as Maarten Van Severen. The architect and designer built an impressive career in architecture, interior design and furniture. His collaboration with Vitra began in 1996, and until his death in 2005 he worked on a series of new models that later gradually entered production.
