The idea of an unusual table design called "Phantom" is based on the role of the table as a gathering place in the home. Important moments happen around it: meals, conversations, decisions and celebrations. Created for Stilwerk in 2010 as a limited edition by GRAFT Architects, the design interprets this familiar subject in a new way.
Extraordinary table design for art lovers

Phantom is a contemporary product that sits on the border between art and design. The model was produced in a limited edition of only nine pieces and appeared in numerous exhibitions. The special table design also attracted prominent admirers: Hollywood actor Brad Pitt reportedly acquired one.
Table design on the border with pure art

The table design appears like a snow-white cloth caught in motion. It draws on the energy of Umberto Boccioni's Futurist ideas and the iconic image of Marilyn Monroe's dress lifting in the wind. The playful design creates the illusion that a ghostlike tablecloth is hovering above the ground.
The dining table can be considered as a design object

A high-strength glass- and carbon-fiber composite was used for the table. The extremely light, thin fibers allowed greater freedom in shaping the form. The glossy surface looks almost like cold water when it catches the light. Phantom is about 5-6 cm thick, 3 meters long and weighs around 100 kg.
