Zagreb-based architecture studio DVA Arhitekta designed A+A House as a modern white house with a striking abstract exterior. The project was created for a young couple with a dog and involved replacing part of an existing semi-detached house in the neighborhood where both clients grew up.
A Renovated White House In Zagreb

Although the program required more space, the architects respected the structure and rhythm of the surrounding neighborhood by keeping the existing outline of the house. The new volume follows the adjacent building at the point of contact, then expands more boldly, especially at the roof.
The pure white exterior gives the house a crisp, contemporary identity, while the warm interior uses wood accents and neutral tones to create a more intimate domestic atmosphere.
The White A+A House

The house has a total area of 387 square meters and is organized across two floors and two mezzanines. Sloping surfaces, skylights, faceted facade elements, and a dominant staircase give the interior rhythm and movement, while the carefully fitted openings bring light deep into the home.
The result is a house that feels both restrained and expressive: abstract from the street, warm inside, and carefully adapted to the clients’ needs.
