We present a novel concept by French designer Constance Guisset. She became known in her country for innovative projects. The design is called Duplex, and as its name suggests, it combines an aquarium and a birdcage.
Aquarium and birdcage in one design

The aquarium and birdcage create the possibility of bringing fish and parakeets into a limited space. The birdcage is elongated and sits below the tank. The aquarium itself is thermoformed so the bird can fly at the same visual level as the fish. The design looks futuristic. The large cage provides ample room for small birds; canaries and parakeets can move comfortably there. Creative perches and a climbing ladder support the birds’ well-being and give them a view of the entire room. The aquarium has algae and can accommodate several fish. The designer chose a practical concept: the cage and aquarium can be cleaned separately, so the animals do not have to be disturbed unnecessarily.
Aquarium and birdcage – an alternative to bulky cages

The design combines aquarium and birdcage in a single object and is sure to fascinate animal lovers. The animals will explore the setting with curiosity, and children will also enjoy watching it. This intelligent and successful concept follows an earlier idea by the designer, in which she built an aquarium into a birdcage. You can find more pictures in the photo gallery.
Constance Guisset studied cultural management in Paris. She also worked for the Embassy of Japan. Collaboration with different cultures has inspired her designs and brought her several design prizes and awards over the years. Numerous publications in magazines around the world followed, along with a successful career.
