Compost supplies nutrients for lush plant growth and improves soil structure. Building a wooden bio-composter is actually easier than you might think. Simple wooden composters can be found in any hardware store, but you can also build one yourself with little effort and investment. The following paragraphs explain what amateur gardeners should keep in mind.
Find a suitable place for a wooden composter

Before building the bio-composter, first determine the location. Ideally, it should stand in the shade, because compost should not dry out completely. Choose a hidden spot in the garden where the bin will not be in the way or visible to guests. Make sure the compost receives enough oxygen. Wood is very suitable for composting because it does not rust and allows good air circulation. Adjust the size of the composter to the chosen location.

For reasons of space, it is better to build wooden compost bins upward rather than outward; earthworms can then do their work faster. If possible, make one side of the composter removable so you can work with the compost more easily. Working only from above is tiring and awkward. Once you have found a suitable spot in the garden, dig holes about 40 centimeters deep for the corner posts. Only then should you screw the boards in place. The bottom board should sit about 5 to 6 inches above the ground.
