The owners of several houses on a street in Sydney sat down together and decided to redesign their yards. All of the gardens have beautiful harbor views. A design studio was commissioned to create an idyllic garden behind each house while also linking the individual gardens together.
Small garden design – choose the pond and plants
First, the architects divided every small garden into different areas. A small pond with river stones relaxes the senses. A small stone path leads through the garden, surrounded by modern minimalist sculptures made of bamboo and glass. The patio was laid with concrete slabs. Evergreen trees invite residents to relax in the shade, while the restrained perennial planting gives the space a modern, clean look. Several life-size statues complete the concept. One side of the courtyard is protected from neighbors by a metal fence. On the other side, the view opens toward the landscape.
The small garden becomes more visual
The lawn is the connecting element between the private gardens. Several comfortable seating areas have been designed so residents and their guests can enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Thanks to the well-thought-out concept, precise planning and careful execution, all owners can enjoy the convenience of a large garden while still having a private, well-screened place to relax during the summer months. Instead of a small untidy garden area, the gardens now offer a modern sculptural look. Statues and high-quality materials, including limestone tiles, sandstone details and onyx slabs, catch the eye.
The Australian designers are known for their creative projects. Their landscape concepts for public areas have received international recognition and several architecture awards.
