Fertilizer needed for the garden – when, how and how?

The use of nitrogen fertilizer for the garden is popular. It supports grass growth and helps maintain a green color. The best time to apply it is in July and August, about 3-4 days after mowing. It is preferable to fertilize during the cooler parts of the day to reduce ammonia evaporation from the manure to a minimum. The recommended rate is 20-24 grams per square meter, or about 35 grams of ammonium nitrate fertilizer per square meter in spring and late autumn.

Personally, I start fertilizing in March, or April at the latest, and always with a combined fertilizer containing nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. I use the combined fertilizer at least once a month, sometimes more often, but in small portions. My last full fertilization takes place in mid-May. Then in June I start with ammonium nitrate, and continue this way until the end of September. In October and November I fertilize again with manure, gradually reducing the amount. My final fertilization is in mid-November, but only in low doses.

Now I want to tell you the biggest secret of soil fertilization. No matter what kind of garden you have, whether a vegetable garden, fruit garden, decorative garden, or colorful flower garden, it is important to fertilize the soil once a year with triple superphosphate. Why? Many of you may ask that here. This fertilizer dissolves very slowly, feeds the plants, stimulates root development, and supports their overall growth. It can usually be found in agricultural supply stores during the winter season. I personally use it in late December or early January, but only when conditions are right, meaning a snow cover of about 5-10 cm, no less and no more. In this way, the fertilizer dissolves quickly and is absorbed more evenly. And what is the end result?
