Cube house

The  design objective of the 46 North Avenue project by Rolf Ockert was to create additional living space for a young couple with children. The original home of the family was poor, with just 100 square meters of living space. This new two-storey home flat roof is an eclectic addition to their old house and ensures maximum comfort.

Architecture

The flat-roofed house is located in an idyllic landscape of the city of Sydney, Australia, next to small houses with brick facades. This modern building has not yet been seen in the area.

This modern flat roof immediately catches the eye. The gray square structure contributes to a mysterious phenomenon. Viewed from the front, the front is a sense of rigor and robustness.

The exterior has been designed with great imagination and always kept very simple straight lines. The street frontage representative was provided by rectangular panels. The pace of the straight line is interrupted by narrow windows in bright colors.

The open living room is built on the garden level. An unique and intense use of color gives the room a touch of charm and comfort, and helps determine the impression of space. The colors inside contrasts with the sober exterior of the house. Opulent decor expresses individuality and style. Thanks to the generous use of glass the interior spaces are filled with light.

Habitats are bright and welcoming. The room is clean and tidy and well suited for the main functions of living, cooking, eating, and working. Thanks to its simple design the interior spaces are all optimized for daily living. Bathrooms and bedrooms are located upstairs.

Obviously, the original home and modern add-on have no visual similarity between them. However, despite the diversity both act as a unified whole, leaving a striking contrast.
