House minimalist architect concrete and glass in the desert

minimalist architecture

We present a minimalist architect-designed concrete house characterized by clean lines and clear construction. The project by Wendell Burnette Architects is called Dialogue House and was inspired by John Charles Van Dyke’s book The Desert. Completed in 2015, the modern concrete house offers more than 204 square meters of living space. Located in the desert in Phoenix, Arizona, it combines minimalist architecture with a garden of exotic desert plants.

Architectural concrete and glass house with minimalist principles

Dream Houses

The architectural concrete house is divided into two volumes, each with a different character. One feels warm and inviting, while the other appears fresh and elegant. The first opens to stunning views of the surroundings through a generous glass facade, while the second surrounds the garden. Inspired by John Van Dyke’s research and his descriptions of color, air and light reflections in the desert, the concrete house tries to stay close to that concept.

Concrete and glass house with a purist interior

The living room of the architect-designed concrete house features a fully glazed wall. Dark masonry inside sets the tone for the otherwise sober, minimalist furniture. Particularly noteworthy are the white living-room furniture and the subtle light that spreads across the wall into the room. The purist shapes of the staircase, the rectangular furniture design and the smooth kitchen fronts will delight fans of minimalist interiors. The only wall decoration is made up of different designs in the living area. Enjoy the virtual tour of this dream house in the middle of the American desert.
