House Gepo is one of OYO Architects’ projects. This cubic two-story building made of glass, wood and concrete was built in 2012 in Wijgmaal, Belgium. Its linear minimalist concept is paired with a retro aesthetic.
Modern house of glass and wood in a minimalist style
The small family house, built with a steel structure, was designed for maximum transparency and openness. Floor-to-ceiling glazing visually connects the garden with the living room. The small garden pond reflects in the glass facade, creating a strong visual connection to the house.
Flat-roofed house of glass and concrete with loft-style living
The windows give the ground floor a sense of lightness, while the concrete-clad upper level appears more massive and visually heavy. Seen from afar, the glass house and concrete volume seem to float in the air.
The glass visually enlarges the interior
The minimalist interior concept is finished with striking details, so no additional ornaments or decorations are needed. Mid-century-style retro furniture gives the 180-square-meter living space a distinctive atmosphere. The combination of modern and retro elements is especially interesting. Warm autumn tones and bright matching colors soften the linear geometric rigor of the right angles. Sliding doors offer direct access to the tranquil garden.
