This house with bamboo blinds was designed by the architecture firm World Harmony Consulting & Design. Used as an office, it is located in Yangzhou, China. Bamboo blinds as an important element of the house architecture
Bamboo blinds were used mainly for the large wooden porch. The deck is covered with bamboo from above and along the sides. The open front section of the house sits beside the water and was built mainly from natural materials such as wood and bamboo. The porch was added to the main building and is sheltered on all sides at the front by bamboo screens. The brick building fits beautifully with the deck.
Bamboo blinds for living in harmony with the environment
The property with bamboo blinds was built in a classical style beside the river and blends well with the natural environment. The house sits naturally on its site and impresses with a peaceful atmosphere. The terrace is quite large and includes a courtyard with a small pond in the middle. A few glass elements give the design a modern note: the railing and glass front door recall contemporary architecture. Otherwise, the traditional appearance with bamboo blinds suits the riverside setting beautifully.
