Masseria Cimino: From the Ancient Roman City of Egnatia to Us

03/02/2012 – The Masseria Cimino is a manor house with a tower built in the 1700's only a few meters from the sea. It is an archaeological site of the ancient Roman city of Egnatia, Dating from the sixth century.a.C.

The ancient rocks that surrounded the walls of Egnatia from the 1700s are still in the construction of the Masseria Cimino and still visible on the walls today from the old prints from the time of the Romans.

The "Masseria Cimino" is surrounded by gardens and olive groves. It is an agricultural center on a sufficiently large scale, which was used in management of the fields and the storage of the products.
The premises were home to the centres of processing of agricultural products. A part of the building served as the residence of the workers, farmers and occasional residence of the owners, as well as the majority of the farms in the Puglia region.

In the year 2001 around the Masseria space with magnificent views of the Adriatic sea, the San Domenico Golf club with 18-hole Golf course was built. In 2005 it was completely renovated maintaining the original structure, the architectural features and in full respect of the materials, the shapes and the colors of the original.

The hotel offers 15 rooms, some of which are located in the old tower and others in the farms with renovated rooms having views of the archaeological site. This is part of the campaign of excavations of the ancient Roman city of Egnazia. The latter, recently in the light, so the boundaries of the property mark.

The Masseria Cimino is part of San Domenico, the last of which was born, is the Borgo Egnazia.
The second arises from the needs of the public. Unlike the farms of the family, with a view to the young families with children and events for companies more difficult. It is a new type of design the home, which was in a quiet historical centre of the city, in which every detail is designed for comfort and beauty. Of course, as an ancient village, solemn as a Palace, the village has a population of 92 exclusive typical houses, rooms and suites, all equipped with precious garden in Arabic style.

Borgo Egnazia comprises of three main areas: Corte (Hotel), The villas and The village. The hotel has 63 rooms, all of which are decorated in white, with walls made of tuff stone. The apartments have large terraces and all the rooms enjoy a magnificent view of the sea or the countryside of Puglia. The villas offer you the warmth of home with the comfort and the facilities of the hotel. Each villa has three bedrooms and is surrounded by lush gardens with a private pool. The village consists of a total of 92 houses, city-and deluxe-rooms, white houses and narrow streets, romantic and reminiscent of the characteristic of historical centers of the countries of this region.

Also a spa by the name of Vluft, Puglia, is the starting point of the journey, but also the ideal destination. An authentic Apulia, shares the popular tradition and the ancient, natural treatments which are effective and healthy. The people are also hospitable and there is solar energy.
