Espace St-Denis is a modern apartment interior designed by Anne Sophie Goneau. Measuring 118.92 square meters, the apartment occupies the ground floor of a three-story building in Montreal, Canada. The designer’s goal was to visually divide each living space without disrupting the integrity of the architecture, while bringing natural light into every room. The concept relies on raw materials, including brick, steel and solid wood, paired with a black-and-white palette and glossy surfaces.
Modern ground-floor apartment with stylish design

The kitchen is the focal point of the home and extends toward the dining room and living room. It is separated by a glass wall, creating a contrast with the brick wall. A green velvet sofa, two chairs and a large bookcase are the only pieces of furniture in the living room.
Modern apartment with strong contrasts

Underfloor heating was installed beneath a concrete slab and covered with a light gray epoxy and polyurethane finish that mimics the natural color of concrete. Both bedrooms and the bathroom have bright white epoxy flooring, marking a clear distinction between the private areas and the living zone.
Exposed brick creates a brilliant effect in the kitchen

Glossy black kitchen cabinet fronts are combined with black appliances, including the refrigerator. A built-in cooktop keeps the view of the backlit brick wall unobstructed. The dining table visually continues the white surface.

In the bathroom, a custom stainless-steel vanity and a rectangular basin are stacked to form an interesting composition. Dark gray epoxy covers the toilet and shower area, creating a strong visual boundary with the white bathroom zone.
