This modern egg-shaped boat house creates new possibilities for observing marine life. The project was developed through a collaboration between PAD Studio, the SPUD group, and researcher Stephen Turner, who was intended to live and work in the structure for a year.

The estuary of the Beaulieu River in the United Kingdom provides a rich setting for studying marine life. The floating structure combines a boat and a small house, with space for sleeping, working, cooking, bathing, and carrying out research. Built from local wood, it is designed to withstand sun, wind, and rain.

The Egg was designed for sustainable living. Solar panels provide energy for basic equipment such as a laptop, camera, and mobile phone, while recycled materials were used in construction. The project explores life on the water and encourages awareness of the cycles and habitats around it.
