Materials needed: stencil (DIY or from Etsy, Amazon, etc.), brush, tape, pencil, paint, accent paint colors, and paper.

Choose the wall where you want the pattern, then decide on the stencil template, background color, and accent colors. Paint the wall in the selected base color.

Determine the position of the template on the wall and secure it with tape.

Paint over the stencil

Make sure there is not too much paint on the brush. Dab excess paint on a paper towel before applying it to the wall.

Dab gently with the brush over the stencil.

Press firmly around the stencil openings so nothing slips.

Check the marking points

Mark all corners with a pencil before removing the tape and stencil.

Move the stencil

Move the stencil by following the marked points to continue the design. Tape the template to the wall and repeat the process. Tip: use a spirit level to check the stencil position.

Repeat the steps

Continue the pattern over the edges of the wall

By painting close to the edges, the wall will look more like wallpaper.
