Designing a small apartment that feels both elegant and comfortable is often difficult. Interior architect Maxim Tikhonov, however, created a space that is inviting and fascinating at the same time.
Small Apartment: Interior With a Big Impact
The small apartment has two bedrooms and is located in Moscow, one of Europe’s largest capitals. The apartment was completely renovated by Design Studio Project M2, which created an elegant, modern interior with an eclectic mix of retro and contemporary furniture. The architects designed an open living area where a comfortable sofa, shag carpet and small home office flow into a dining area and white kitchen. A small wall shelf above the desk offers extra storage for books. Some of the old wooden furniture was preserved, giving the desk and large wall mirror a subtle retro touch.
Elegant Wall Decoration in a Small Apartment in the Heart of Moscow
The simple color palette of gray and white makes the room seem visually larger. Decoration is used sparingly, with colorful superhero posters and wall panels. In the hallway, the architects preserved the wall texture and painted the old brickwork white. Exotic houseplants such as orchids and palms create a warmer atmosphere. A small balcony invites residents to relax outside; its old furniture was simply repainted, and a small lantern adds a pleasant mood in the evening.
