A gallery house surrounded by greenery brings art and nature together with quiet confidence.
Gallery House design, with an atmosphere shaped by nature and art

This gallery house was designed by Colombian firm GM Arquitectos. Natural bamboo, a neutral white palette, glass walls, and open circulation define the project. The architects created a setting where the art collection and the surrounding landscape can be experienced together. The 500-square-meter house is located in Pereira, Colombia. Its design responds to the program, budget, client requirements, geography, climate, and sloping site. The owners, a couple with a young daughter, are art collectors, so displaying the collection was central to the brief.
The gallery house was built around the clients' idea of a dream home

In the new gallery house their artworks needed room to breathe, while the building also had to stay as close to nature as possible. The family wanted a calm retreat away from the pace of the city. The site is defined by its warm climate, lush landscape, and bamboo vegetation, so the windows and openings were used to create a fluid relationship between inside and outside. White finishes were chosen deliberately, allowing the greenery and artwork to remain the main visual focus.
