3D visualization

The design of this striking 3D house by French visual artist Benoît Challand combines the visual language of Le Corbusier with the sculptural energy associated with Santiago Calatrava. Challand’s futuristic building is lifted off the ground by an angled structural frame. Designed with ambitious sustainability goals, the house stands on tall stilts.

The 3D house design, named Roost House, is built around an impressive concept. It is intended to generate its own electricity, use renewable energy, and rely on passive heating and cooling. With advanced construction technologies and careful resource use, the house is conceived as a largely self-sufficient retreat.

Architecture

Both the interior and exterior walls are clad in wood. Recessed circulation areas form balconies, while the sloping roof is fitted with solar panels. In Challand’s concept, a wind turbine is mounted beneath the living volumes. A dramatic entrance leads up into the house.
