Houghton 6th 1448 is a modern dream home in an affluent suburb of Johannesburg. SAOTA – Stefan Antoni Olmesdahl Truen architects worked with Antoni related to design this exclusive home. The task of the architects was to create a home for a large family. The house is situated on a gentle downward slope, surrounded by trees.

The site was divided into two separate volumes, arranged around a common entrance and driveway, which gives access to two bedrooms. Both houses have a U-shape around a courtyard and easy access to all areas of life and the pool.

Inside, the rooms are built around a central spiral staircase. Living rooms, kitchen and courtyard are oriented to the north, while the games room, swimming pool and gym in the West. All these areas have a connection to the court, bringing to the main house. The room and the home office are upstairs. The passage to the bedrooms of children running along a perforated wall that separates the building from the entrance.

Antoni Associates, have been responsible for creating a modern facility that reflects the lifestyle of the family. The decor and furnishings are modern and have selected strong lines that complement the linear architecture. A series of custom parts, furniture was designed by interior Okha. Neutral tones with color accents were used throughout. Carpet expressive add drama and texture to the rooms. Art by South African artists including Lyndi Sales and Philip Barlow are provided throughout.
