An apartment in Brazil appears in a new light thanks to a creative ceiling design with recessed lighting. The modern interior concept was created by Brazilian architect Gisele Taranto in collaboration with Vanda Klabin and lighting specialist Maneco Quinderé.

A Brazilian apartment with an original recessed-lighting concept
Located in a residential building in Barra da Tijuca, in western Rio de Janeiro, the apartment is the home of a young couple. Gisele Taranto Arquitetura created an open living space with a smooth transition between inside and outside. A richly glazed facade opens toward the balcony, while wooden panels provide privacy.

Recessed ceiling lighting creates warmth
Natural materials such as wood are combined with metal, and the concrete ceiling contrasts with the warmth of the timber floor. Subtle recessed lighting softens the room and gives the apartment a relaxed atmosphere. Additional floor lamps and accent lights highlight artwork, wall design, and furniture.
