The architects found this space in a narrow passage near Gaudi’s Sagrada Familia. The building was originally an aluminum-frame factory and was later converted into a parking area. The aim of the project was to transform the industrial interior into a flexible exhibition hall.
Renovated Two.bo Exhibition Hall
The strongest feature of the hall is its industrial presence, emphasized by high ceilings, exposed concrete, and light entering from the skylights. Working with a limited budget, the architects preserved the spirit of the original space while making it more welcoming and usable.
Light, Concrete, And Euro Pallets
The existing openings already gave the room a distinctive character, so the design focused on cleaning and clarifying the elements that could make the most of that light.
The brief was minimal: the hall needed three public toilets. In response, the architects built three wooden volumes inside the exhibition space, almost like oversized blocks placed within the room.
The boxes have a deliberately rough appearance, and the recycled euro pallets suit the industrial character of the hall. Inside each volume, however, is a warmer and more protected domestic-feeling space furnished with antique pieces.
