The unusual wooden chest of drawers by young Australian designer Jack Frost is called Terranos. The name combines the Latin words terra and novus, suggesting a modern land. Inspired by aerial views of the Australian landscape, the cabinet translates natural topography into a faceted wooden surface.

The drawer fronts echo the contours found in aerial imagery, while the angled surfaces create shifting light and shadow. Beyond its sculptural appearance, the wooden dresser remains functional, offering about 160 liters of storage.

Terranos was Frost’s first major furniture project, developed while he was studying industrial design. The piece reflects his interests in art, photography, and woodworking, turning the shapes of landforms into a practical sideboard.
