Las Vegas is known as a paradise for gamblers and a magnet for millions of tourists who come each year to see its monumental architecture. The city presents an eclectic mix of styles and a nightlife that never seems to pause. Beyond the spectacular hotels and casino facades, however, the surrounding desert appears sparse and inhospitable at first glance. On the outskirts of the city, a modern house was completed that takes its inspiration precisely from the versatility of that desert landscape.
Modern detached house Tresarca near Las Vegas

TresARCA is a modern family home, designed by the local architecture practice assemblageSTUDIO. The residence is composed of several flat-roofed volumes arranged in a playful composition that responds to the nearby Red Rock landscape. It reads as an organic extension of its surroundings. The spaces between the buildings create terraces and protected outdoor rooms, while desert colors continue inside.
A modern detached house with an exceptional concept

The architecture plays with sun, shade, and strong linear forms. A blackened steel mesh wraps parts of the flat-roofed building like a light filter, allowing daylight through while shading the terraces. The partially floating screen acts as an effective sunshade. The house also includes comfortable spaces on the lower and upper levels. Because the lower level is set into the ground, it benefits from passive cooling and can operate as a separate apartment. The material palette recalls the desert setting.
