This elegant bathroom, part of a home in Balgowlah on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, Australia, was redesigned by Minosa Design as a refined contemporary bathroom with a glamorous design. White marble, soft wall finishes, and a light floor palette give the room its polished character.
Modern Bathroom Design Based on a Light Color Palette

The designers chose to break away from the usual four-wall approach for this modern bathroom design. A central wall was positioned within the room, allowing the freestanding bath and crystal chandelier to sit perfectly in the space. For extra sparkle, a Bisazza Swarovski crystal and glass mosaic was used as the feature wall. It is also the first thing seen from the bedroom. Behind this wall are the toilet and double shower, giving both areas privacy without doors or separate enclosed rooms. Each area has its own ventilation system. The mirrored cabinet doors are oversized and lift up to 90 degrees, staying open wherever the client chooses, which is ideal for close makeup checks.
Modern Bathroom Design With Luxurious Furnishings

The modern bathroom also includes a vanity area where the owner can prepare for the day. The asymmetrical arrangement was part of the design challenge, along with the need for excellent lighting. LED lighting is controlled by dimmers, helping create both practical brightness and a relaxed mood. The success of this bathroom design comes from its careful material selection: stone tiles create a sense of luxury, while a long, sheer curtain softens the room. Australian-made furniture and washbasin pieces complete the space, and the final result feels comfortable, glamorous, and refined.
