We present a successful apartment renovation in the UK: an apartment in an old building in the heart of London has been transformed into a modern home with an open kitchen.
Apartment renovation: making the most of existing conditions

Even an exclusive residential area in the city center does not guarantee a successful floor plan. This London flat, for example, was divided into dark and narrow rooms. The owners, a family from Southeast Asia, decided to change that and commissioned the well-known architectural firm VW + BS to undertake the apartment renovation. The talented architects designed several functional rooms that can accommodate the owners during business trips as well as friends during holidays. The terrace and French windows were renovated. A bedroom and office were also created on the second floor. The spacious living room on the lower floor consists of a kitchen with a dining area and a comfortable seating area. If necessary, the kitchen can be separated from the living room by a partition wall.
Modern apartment renovation completely transformed the flat

Several dividers separate the living room into different zones, allowing all family members to spend time together while still enjoying privacy. The interior is deliberately simple: oak floors and paneling create a pleasant atmosphere. Purist, multifunctional furniture in neutral colors completes the look. It is a very successful renovation, and it makes excellent use of the available space.
