This minimalist house is located in Villarcayo, Burgos, Spain, and was designed by Pereda Perez Arquitectos. Completed in 2012, it offers an escape from hectic city life. The flat concrete roof and wood-clad house cover an area of 206 square meters. The design combines concrete and wood in a restrained, interesting way. The clients wanted a one-story house to strengthen the relationship with the natural environment. Clean lines and rectangular windows create a bright, airy atmosphere for people who value peace, light and practical minimalism.

The result is a large building with a calm presence. The main volume contains the open, minimalist living area, while the edges of the plan hold private spaces such as bedrooms, a home office and bathrooms. Concrete floors connect visually with the surrounding ground, while the walls are clad in wood. Everything is plain and simple, including the small terrace, and the consistency of the details makes the house attractive.
