Do you love diving? Marine life is usually the main attraction, but the sea also hides another kind of wonder: underwater sculptures. With a mask, snorkel or diving equipment, you can discover statues that have become part of the submerged landscape.
Amphitrite, Grand Cayman: a bronze mermaid sculpture near Sunset House Resort, on the south-western side of Grand Cayman. It sits at a depth of around 15 meters and is a favorite subject for divers.
Guardian of the Reef, Grand Cayman: a triton figure that appears to protect the underwater world around it.
MUSA, the Underwater Museum of Art, Cancun, Mexico: an underwater museum with hundreds of life-size sculptures, designed to combine art, tourism and marine habitat.

Christ of the Abyss, Portofino: located in the bay of San Fruttuoso, this bronze statue by Guido Galletti was placed underwater in 1954 in memory of diver Dario Gonzatti. It is not the only Christ of the Abyss in the world, but it remains one of the best known.
