28 Contemporary Interior Project in Palette Color

As with exterior design, the interior plays an important role in defining a home’s style. This project was handled by Meg Joannides of MLK Studio in collaboration with architect Hagy Belzberg of Belzberg Architects. Located in Los Angeles, California, the project aimed to create a complete interior design for a 10,000-square-foot family home and a 2,000-square-foot guesthouse. Meg Joannides also worked with Boffi on the 10 bathrooms, main kitchen and guesthouse kitchen. The interior is mostly furnished with custom pieces from MLK Studio, fabricated in Los Angeles. Finished in a neutral palette, the rooms are skillfully layered and sophisticated. Walnut hardwood flooring, bluestone countertops and bluestone walls create harmony between indoors and outdoors. The kitchen uses Calacatta marble and high-gloss cabinetry, while the master bathroom features Turkish limestone walls and flooring. The selection of materials, colors and furniture was chosen to meet the client’s goals. Brentwood Residence is a modern house with a box-like structure, wrapped in large clear windows and doors that allow sunlight to fill the interior during the day. A broad swimming pool becomes the centerpiece of the outdoor area. Complemented by modern, simple patio furniture, the terrace is a cozy place to enjoy the end of the day.
