The design objective of the 46 North Avenue project by Rolf Ockert was to create additional living space for a young couple with children. The family’s original home was small, with only 100 square meters of living space. This new two-storey home with a flat roof is an eclectic addition to the old house and provides maximum comfort.
Minimalist house with a flat roof and colorful facades

The flat-roofed house is located in an idyllic area of Sydney, Australia, among small homes with brick facades. This modern building brings a new architectural presence to the neighborhood.
The street view is shaped by the interaction of surfaces

This modern flat-roofed house immediately catches the eye. The gray square structure gives the building a mysterious character. From the front, the facade feels rigorous and robust.
Cube house with windows and an unusual facade design

The exterior was designed with imagination while keeping the lines simple and straight. The representative street frontage is made of rectangular panels, and narrow windows in bright colors interrupt the rhythm of the straight lines.
Cube living by Rolf Ockert Design

The open living room is located on the garden level. The unique and intense use of color gives the room charm and comfort, and helps define the spatial impression. The interior colors contrast with the sober exterior, while the expressive decor reflects individuality and style. Thanks to generous glazing, the rooms are filled with light.
Geometric house with a flat roof

The living areas are bright and welcoming. The rooms are clean, orderly and well suited to the main functions of living, cooking, eating and working. Thanks to the simple design, the interiors are optimized for daily life. Bathrooms and bedrooms are located upstairs.
Small house with a cozy front porch

At first glance, the original home and the modern addition have little visual similarity. Despite their differences, however, they work together as a unified whole and create a striking contrast.
