The architectural firm WOHA, based in Singapore, has completed the project Alila Villas in Bali, Indonesia. Consisting of a series of rectangular housing, the design is provided such that the outer and inner zones are extensions of each other only. Wooden trellis with fine decorations barely covers the stunning views of the nearby sea.

Many shimmering pools define a landscape full of palm trees and the interaction of land and distance from the sea designers have adhered strictly to environmental measures in the construction and maintenance. Local, recyclable and recycled materials are used in the project, with particular attention to the use of water on site.

Rainwater is collected and naturally diverted to the pools and gardens to irrigate the plethora of Balinese plants and protect native vegetation. The result is a collection of seemingly small pools and hidden in the palm cottages. With an exotic and eco-design that blend with the environment.
