Haffenden House, A Study for Poets

PARA-project is a study to read and write in a residential area in Syracuse, New York. It features the design of a planned building for two poets.
The house of ice II is inspired by the installation of Gianni Pettena, the concept, the shape of the building: a white rectangle between two houses in the suburbs, reminiscent of the snow.
The idea for the project revolves around two goals: to enhance the feeling of space and solve conceptually and physically from the environment in the city. Haffenden HouseHaffenden's House

On the ground floor is the garage, the first floor of the library and the room of the Scriptures, the second and last floor, a reading room and a hot tub.
The ceiling is a dome standing and provides indirect light, perfect for immersing yourself in the world of books.

The transparency was used as a medium for the transfer of an ambiguous light.
The skin of the building was with a kind of translucent silicone and covers the various openings of the facade, causing a slight blurring of the lines but otherwise crisp.

The back cover has a large square opening in the screen to the inside by a curtain in order to ensure confidentiality.

One of the first requirements of the clientele, the implementation of a bath, a special bath, where he the ritual of reflection and meditation in the water.
