25/07/2014 – Located on the Bay of Cádiz in Andalusia, the House of the Infinite is one of Alberto Campo Baeza‘s most emblematic residential projects. Built facing the Atlantic, the house is conceived as a 20 x 36 meter Roman travertine platform, rising above the site like a stone podium.
The roof becomes a terrace that extends visually toward the sea. With its horizon line, infinity pool and panoramic view of the Atlantic, this upper plane gives the project both its name and its character.
The house is organized below this platform on two levels. Living spaces are set within the depth of the structure, while access is marked by a monumental stair carved into the stone volume.
Campo Baeza described the project as a tribute to the classical world: a stone Acropolis, a Roman forum by the sea, and a contemporary echo of Adalberto Libera’s Casa Malaparte. The result is a house intended to remain in memory as much as in place.
